This will be good news should they move forward. In my opinion I think that any and all involved should be held accountable for their actions and their part.
On relationships and the Narcissist

The status of professional victim sits well with the partner's
tendency to punish his self, namely: with his masochistic streak. The torment,
which is a life with a Narcissist is a just punitive measure. In this respect,
the partner is the mirror image of the Narcissist. By maintaining a symbiotic
relationship with him, by being totally dependent upon the source of masochistic
supply (which the Narcissist most reliably constitutes and most amply provides)
- the partner enhances certain traits and encourages certain behaviours, which
are at the very core of Narcissism.
A Narcissist is never whole without an adoring, submissive,
available, self-denigrating partner. His very sense of superiority, indeed his
False Self, depends on it. His sadistic Super-Ego directs itself at the partner,
thus finally obtaining a legitimate source of satisfaction (which does not
endanger the very existence of the Narcissist).
It is interesting to say the least. What makes people tic. How did they come to be this way. Just a brief post this morning.
